Description:

The Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program meets the housing needs of low-income persons with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) or related diseases and their families.

This program authorizes entitlement grants and competitively awarded grants for housing assistance and services.

*The lottery for the new HOPWA TBRA waiting list, which closed for applications this February, is postponed at this time.

Intake Process:

Please submit complete reimbursement packages by the 10th of the month through your agency’s assigned Contract Analyst. All agencies must submit their reimbursement packages by e-mail to HCDrequest@miamigov.com

Eligibility:

Persons who are low-income (80% of median income as established by U.S. HUD) and have received an AIDS diagnosis are eligible to apply for assistance under HOPWA, during an advertised application period.
