Description:

The mission of Health Care Center for the Homeless is to provide quality health care services that improve the lives of the homeless and medically indigent people. This award-winning non-profit organization has been heralded for making the community a healthier place and for helping the homeless back to self-sufficiency. The Orange Blossom Family Health Center was opened by HCCH in January of 2006 to further their mission to offer a systemic solution to move people out of homelessness and into self-sufficiency as well as offering a safety net to the financially precarious keeping them from falling into homelessness due to the expenses of a catastrophic illness or loss of income due to illness. The services at HCCH are provided in a multi-disciplinary approach combining aggressive street outreach with integrated systems of primary health care, dental, vision, behavioral health, education and patient advocacy. Primary Medical: HCCH operates a full-service primary care clinic with services including lab tests, EKG and prescription drugs. Dental: dental clinic for homeless in downtown Orlando. Also offers Medicaid Kid's Clinic on alternating Fri for kids in downtown Orlando Zip code. Optical: free eye exams and glasses for the homeless. Behavioral Health: LMHC on site to provide general and crisis counseling.
