Veterans Services is a County program designed to serve the needs of former members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their dependents in obtaining Federal and State benefits available to them as a result of their active military service. Receipt of these benefits will enhance and improve the health, welfare and quality of life for the recipients.

Services Offered:
-Aid and Attendance, Housebound Claims
-Annual Eligibility Verification Reports (EVR's)
-Assist Widows of Military Retirees (SBP and Arrears of Pay)
-Change of address forms
-Clothing allowance claims
-Dependency and Indemnity Claims
-Educational Benefits Counseling
-Home Visits to Disabled Homebound Veterans and Widows
-Military Retiree/dependent information on ID cards
-Nursing home visits to provide claim assistance
-Outreach" speeches before Veterans and Citizens Groups
-Request for Lost Military Records (DD Forms 214, or equivalent, military records)
-VA Insurance Assistance (settlement of claims, change of beneficiary, cash/loans)
-VA Loan Guarantee Applications (Certificates of Eligibility)
-VA Medical Center Enrollment Forms
-Vocational Rehabilitation Claims
-Waiver of VA Indebtedness
-Widows Improved Pension Benefits (widows of war time veterans only)
-Application for State Nursing Homes, Domiciliary Home
-Florida ID Cards Request (100% Service Connected only)

The Veterans Service Office also provides daily van service from the Martin County Courthouse Parking lot adjacent to the Veterans Service Office on SE Flagler Ave. to the VA Medical Center, W. Palm Beach, FL and return. This is free transportation to veterans who have scheduled medical appointments at the VA Medical Center. To utilize the van, a veteran must contact the Veterans Services Office as soon as possible after an appointment has been made by the VA Medical Center and no later than 3:00 PM the day prior to the appointment. To schedule appointments, please telephone 288-5450, Monday thru Friday. The veterans van departs at 7:00 AM Monday thru Fri and returns no later than 12:00 PM.

Veterans and dependents of veterans are encouraged to visit the Veterans Services Office or call the office with their concerns.
