Description:

The mission of the Miami Homeless Assistance Program (MHAP) is to provide homeless individuals assistance by placement into appropriate housing and/or shelter. Provides outreach, assessment, placement, information, referral and transportation services to homeless individuals and families. Assists with placement in shelters that can assist with bus tickets (relocation) to go back home to another state. Also, employs and trains formerly homeless men and women.

Eligibility:

Homeless individuals and families.

For relocation services the person must provide a contact person and phone number in the other state to ensure they have a place to stay and should they decided to come back to Miami they must a wait 1 year before being assisted again.

Shelter Requirements:

Clients must be taken to Red Roof for Covid testing; if negative then transferred to shelter. However, if positive must quarantine at the Red Roof. (shelters are not functioning at full capacity, due to social distancing)
